The Dog Walker | Folly Beach SC | April 2009

This photo is the one that created in me a desire to begin capturing what I saw. To me, this is a timeless scene. In this photo, there are the remaining clouds from a thunderstorm that had passed less than an hour before. The waves are still crashing on the shore, and the wind is just beginning to wane. I was seated in the passenger's side, looking out onto the seascape as we drove. I had a little point and shoot, which I used to capture this scene as we passed on our way to the north end of the island. The focus of this photo, framed between the sides of the boardwalk, is a woman and her dog enjoying a walk along the beach after the storm.

The Red Door | Charleston SC | March 2010

Walking through the picturesque streets of Charleston, South Carolina, is an inhalation of architectural beauty at most any given time. On this particular day, we were strolling along Legare enjoying the age-old houses. There was a small alcove in the wall enclosing this timeless entry, within which was a black wrought iron gate, partly open as if extending an invitation. I took one step in from the sidewalk, just enough to take the shot, then carried on up the street being enamored by the 200+ year old architecture.
